The carpentry team at Kaiser’s Moanalua Medical pushed management to fix the hazardous working conditions in their basement shop located next to the Morgue and Lab storage room.
Among their concerns were a formaldehyde leak, rat and fly infestations, water intrusion, and a sewage leak in the ceiling. Together, the entire carpentry team and Shop Steward, Mike Tucker, were able to get management to agree to move their shop out of the basement.
